Dental Implants
We see everyday how tooth implants can transform our patient’s mouths – and their lives. As a permanent solution to missing teeth, dental implants are some of the most innovative solutions in dentistry today.
We use a highly modern technique with our Digital and 3D computer simulation software to make it an extremely accurate process.
The Tooth Place is proud to top quality brands like BIOMET 3i, Nobel Biocare, Straumann and MIS.
How they work
Dental Implants are used to replace missing teeth that have fallen out or have been extracted.
The implant is traditionally left to heal in the jawbone for a period of a few weeks to a few months, allowing the bone to firmly fix to the implant. A stable metallic post, known as an abutment, is used to screw the new tooth onto the implant.
Once complete, a restored implant looks and functions like a real tooth.
What are the benefits?
- Maintaining your anatomy
If you have a missing tooth, the bone that used to hold the tooth in place begins to shrink away over time. Bone loss can change your facial structure and affect other tooth replacement options like dentures in the future. - Looking after your healthy teeth
A better long-term alternative to bridgework, dental implants eliminate the need to grind down healthy teeth when replacing one or more adjacent teeth. - Strength and security
Teeth secured to anchored dental implants do not slip or move. - Quality of life
The natural look and feel of implants empowers you to preserve or improve your level of self-confidence.
When can implants be used?
Single Implant
These are used when you are missing a single tooth. Single tooth replacements look and feel so natural. Chances are you won’t even know it’s there!
Implant Bridge
This is used when two or more teeth are missing or extracted. Implants are placed at the side of each missing tooth with a ‘bridge’ holding a replacement teeth in between. An implant-supported bridge stays secure and strong and won’t cause problems for your adjacent teeth. They are so comfortable and natural, they’ll look and feel like your own teeth.
All on 4
This technique is used in patients who require half or full set of teeth replaced. The entire set of teeth (dentures) can be supported by just 4 implants.
